Miami Beach to the Everglades: How to Get There
The Everglades feel like another world, but from Miami Beach they're a short trip. Airboat tours depart from 17696 SW 8th Street, on Tamiami Trail at the western edge of Miami, about 35 minutes from South Beach.
Driving yourself
Cross the causeway to the mainland, then make your way west to SW 8th Street (Tamiami Trail) and follow it until the city gives way to open sawgrass. Leave a little extra time at rush hour.

Finding the meeting spot
The departure point is at a gas station on the trail, which surprises some first-timers. It's the right place. Arrive about 15 minutes before your tour.
